Gary King's life has not turned out the way it ought to. Or so he thinks. To correct this he gathers his old school chums to join him in an attempt to relive the best night of his life. The night when they attempted to complete "The Golden Mile", A pub crawl through their old home town where they drink a pint at each of ten bars. The movie starts off conventionally enough with the five men dealing with the unresolved issues of their long neglected friendships and finding a way to deal with lost potential of their youth. Somewhere around pint three though, things take a bizarre turn for the weird and all hell breaks loose. Did I mention that the movie is funny as hell? It is. Witty banter and well drawn characters with just a slight tinge of insanity keep the laughs coming. Did I mention that the movie has kick ass action? It does. The fight scenes, choreographed by Brad Allen who worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, are some of the best I've seen in recent memory. I actually clapped my hands together in delight. Did I mention that the story, as silly as the premise is, holds together? It does. I totally bought into it and went along with the drunken ride. I don't regret it, even with the hangover.
