Another three months, another HEARTHSTONE set. Rastakhan's Rumble hit the app last Tuesday and hopefully brings some change to a stale metagame. Things on the Ladder had settled into a dry landscape of Odd Paladin vs Odd Rogue vs DR Hunter vs everyone else…Probably some over-the-top Druid concoction. With Rastakhan's Rumble, I think there's a chance for a slightly more interesting bunch of games, i.e., decided on the board instead of when you realize the matchup is unwinnable after turn 2.

Weirdly enough, after having undergone a diet of ameritrash-only gaming, I recently found myself wandering my game cellar, realizing that currently about 80% of my collection consists of euro's. Good, what a relief to get this out of my system. Actually writing it down somehow makes me a bit nervous. It is a change that I had not seen coming. If you bring your Euro gaming need for strategic planning or Judeo-Christian expectations for fairness to the game you will be sorely disappointed. Terrible things will happen to you regardless of the choices you make.

Two years ago, I wrote a recap of a 24-hour board game charity marathon I participated in titled 24 Hours to Play With Your Food. Fundraisers are held throughout the year and culminate in the 24-hour marathon. That first year, we raised $14,000 for Souls Harbour Rescue Mission here in Regina, Saskatchewan, a local organization that provides services such as a soup kitchen, men's and women's shelters, a free clothing store, and addictions counselling. The idea behind the event is that those of us who are able to sift through a shelving unit of 100+ hobby...
