What I did on my summer vacation (WBC)

So I actually got to make it up to Lancaster PA from Virginia to game all of two days. Sure it's not the WEEKLONG ORGY of dice, chits, gamer funk, beer, and amish that I'd have prefered, but hell - it was a blast and I'll take it.

-enjoyed Age of Empires 3, which I had no expectations for, so it worked out well. Worker placement goodness. Want to play again, and would consider purchasing

-spent FIVE AND A HALF HOURS of my life playing Galactic Emperor. Sweet zombie Jesus. Let's just say that the game's not worth that much time. AT ALL. I liked it, but only if I could get it down to the listed 90. As Malloc played his much enjoyed game of Game of Thrones, he'd come by and mock me. I deserved it. Biggest hit for me in the game was the lack of backstory/chrome. Who am I? I'm the Red guys! Also, I played with two cool guys and one huge dickhead. I'm all for racist jokes, but I tell them to my friends (folks who could take it). This guys busts em out midturn. Like 5 at a time. It felt *so good* kicking his ass.

-Only OOP game played was a terrific one: BUFFY. So I finish with Galactic Time Suck and I've already missed out on KingPut's great offer (3 hours prior) to show me Starcraft. Ubarose innocently asks if I'd like to see her favorite game. Sure! She breaks it out and starts going over it, which attracts KingPut and some other guy (Ben, maybe?). We reamed KingPut as the bad guy with nothing less than the perfect cinematic ending where Willow leveled her new rocket launcher, firing, and having Buffy run him through with a successful attack that auto killed him since he was weak enough. Easily the most fun I had the whole time.

-Next morning I was introduced to both LOTR Confrontation (I was schooled soundly, but really like it) and the LOTR co-op game. In the last one, we played with some expansions and ended up getting *schooled* in Bree. BREE?! Yeah... it was a tense game from there, but ultimately a doomed one. We made it all the way to Shelob's Lair I believe. Great fun!

-Drove home hitting construction traffic in PA and two accidents on the beltway. Joy.

What I did NOT do on my summer vacation

-play Twilight Imperium 3 - I think it happened Thursday night after I was gone. That's right - 5+ hours of GE and 0 of TI3. I suck at gaming.

-play Lifeboats. I had no idea, but this must change. Malloc and others ended the night with this on Wednesday and I watched. Hilarious and Malloc ended up winning via tiebreaker.

- for the love of all that is holy... I never played Starcraft with Kingput. No one will ever know how sad this makes me. This is what Euroquest is for. I SWEAR IT!
