I went to our monthly all day meet up on Saturday. Francie and I agreed to get there early this time. Naturally that meant that something would go wrong at work and I would end up on the phone for three hours Saturday morning trying to sort things out. I ended up not getting to game group until 1:30 in the afternoon. I thought Francie would yank my chain for being so late, but surprise, I got there before she did. HA!
Unfortunately, there was a small turn out due to the holiday weekend, and all 6 of the people who had shown up had just started a game of Power Grid, so I read F:AT on my cell phone and waited for Francie to arrive. Another guy arrived at about the same time as Francie, so we had a 3 player game of Arkadia. Later my man would point out that it is kind of stupid to drive 45 minutes to play a 3 player game of Arkadia with Francie, since Francie owns the game and we can just walk half a block to her house to play. I think he was kind of bummed that we left him behind to do Dad duty and he had go to the drive in and see "Prince Caspian."
There was a plan to play "Mordred" after "Power Grid" was finished, but somehow that never happened, so I ended up playing "Downfall of Pompei" three times. Francie also owns this, so my man would yet again point out that we could have played this at home.
Lastly, one of the guys had a new copy of "Utopia," so we flailed through a learning game of that. It's a very pretty game.
So some how I managed to spend 8 hours playing Arkadia, Pompei, and Utopia. How does this happen?
