I really wanted to like Zombies but after a few games I can say that I probably won't be playing again. Roll, move, more zombies, more bullets, more cards, more hearts. Get killed, lose your stuff, start over at the beginning. That is Zombies in a nutshell. Such a light game shouldn't take more than an hour to complete. I had two games go over two hours. I can play a wargame that lasts 10 hours but the payback in fun for Zombies just isn't worth the time invested. The designers should have remedied this with the second edition but really didn't. Last Night on Earth is a much better game and I recommend that instead to anyone who's a fan of zombie horror.
As mind numbing as the zombification process itsel

Flip a tile, place it on table, play a random card, roll to move, roll to kill zombie. Repeat ad nauseum. Game ends when Helicopter Pad tile is flipped. Nearest person to where it is placed wins. A game from Ameritrash's dark side and not in a good way.
I've had the misfortune of playing this game a few times. It takes way too long, and people can artificially lengthen the game in their bid to actually win. But the true winners are the ones who instead play a better game. Run around the map, send zombies at other players... repeat. Repeat.
Components are nice, and while I see a lot of people mentioning buying the game just to get a pile of zombies, they sell them separately as well... perhaps for less? If you must have a zombie game, get Mantic's Walking Dead All Out War. You're welcome.
