The Amazons, a powerful tribe of warriors, have lived in peace for centuries on the tranquil island of Themyscira. That peace is shattered when their enemies invade. Now it's up to you to defend your home!

In the co-operative game Wonder Woman: Challenge of the Amazons, you'll strategize together, face your foes on the battlefield, and rise to meet the challenge of one of three classic Wonder Woman enemies — Ares, Circe, or The Cheetah — each with their own unique gameplay!

I wish there had been games like this when The Spawn was little. (She turned 21 this weekend BTW.)

How many does it play? Is it built around the horrified system?

It plays 2-5, and I was curious as to why it isn’t 1-5 but I get it now that I know how it works. Definitely not Horrified, though I see where the elevator pitch might sound like it is. It’s got a pretty neat card-driven action resolution system. You get a phase to discuss what you’d like to do but you only have 2 out of your 5 cards to go off of while discussing. Everyone then picks up the rest of their hand, no discussion allowed at this point, and picks 3 cards they want to use and the order in which they’re going to use them. There’s multiple effects to choose from on your cards, so you do get some flexibility. As you might guess, you then go around the table and resolve your actions in the order you played them. Nice way to get around alpha players while making room for unexpected plays and still manage to keep some group strategizing in the mix.

It only comes with 3 villains and you use one each game, but they significantly change what your goals are and how you’ll play.

It also looks great. Finally, a comic book game with good artwork.

We played Wonder Woman for the first time last tonight. We really enjoyed it, although it felt quite easy after having been playing Horrified on the hardest level of difficulty.

Aarrgh these games make me envious of you all stateside.

I can deal with almost any other games just being too expensive but these ones are a perfect fit for the family right now, only hardly anywhere has them and when they do they are a hundred bucks.
