A too-long drafting game where it's borderline random whether you'll be able to cobble together a functional scoring engine or not. The board is a cluttered mess. You could do far better.
An actual classic. Sure it misses occasionally, but it hits far more often and when it does it's pure magic.
It's really, really scripted. Each god must play their role or they essentially give the game away to whoever they were supposed to keep in check. Once everyone learns their role it's not a particularly exciting DOAM.
Well this is just kind of perfect.
Best sandbox. Best adventure game. Best space game. And it does it all with barely any flavor text because your decisions are what creates the stories. Expansion is mandatory because it adds great things and barely any rules. Just fantastic.
Better than just "tiny struggle". A short CDG is a welcome thing and 13 Days is a good one.
I love Bloodborne. I don't love this.
It's just kind of a crappier Cutthroat Caverns where the monster can TPK you entirely at random. If you get behind you're gonna stay behind. I don't think that's an issue in and of itself, but the actual turns just aren't that interesting. It looks fantastic, but that's just because the assets are all lifted from Bloodborne and Bloodborne is amazing.
For a game about violent biker gangs there sure isn't much violence or biking. Just passive aggressive gangs that circle around until someone finally gets pissed off enough to burn a bunch of resources. Whoever fights the least usually wins, and that's messed up.
Taken on its own merits the game is a fine worker placement thing. It just doesn't deliver on its premise.
This went from great to good to fine to annoying. That said it took dozens of plays to get to that point, so YMMV.
