Western Legends: A Fistful of Extras

A Fistful of Extras is a bit more expensive than the other Western Legends small expansions but with the miniatures and six new characters, I felt it was worth....a few dollars more.

Wroth

So, what has Chip Theory Wroth? An Blitzkrieg Area Control game that plays great player versus player at all player counts. The Asymmetrical powers are diverse, the entire aesthetic is stunning, and it's both super quick to teach and play. Highly recommenced if fast, frenzied and furious is how you like your Troops on a Map...or if you like Orcs in Ties.

Folia Folio

Folia Folio rewards strategy, mitigates the luck of a “bad hand” by giving each player goals that are divergent enough that you aren't constantly stepping on each other's toes but allows for a bit of hate drafting if you wish to pursue it. (Well, more like dislike drafting, you'll take a card knowing they need it to score but you can also use it in your album). Even in the recent surge of Trick Taking games, Folia Folio stands tall like a mighty oak.

Cat Conquest

Cat Conquest does have a good balance. All of my plays ended with everyone very close in score and I'm sure my suggestions for changes would possibly throw that off. And, not to harp on the lack of ownership for your selected TOM but I never saw a player lose their TOM and “come back” and win the game. Cat Conquest is obviously a passion project but nothing elevates it beyond a simple “That was fun” once you finish a game. I'm not saying anything is wrong with a relatively simple, straight forward game but Cat Conquest lacks a hook to break out of a attack/heal/reinforce cycle.

Magical Athlete

Magical Athlete offers main line fun for players of any level of board game experience. Bring it to a local Game Night or break it out with family at holidays, you can teach it in minutes. If you haven't experienced the Majestic Madness of Magical Athlete: May I suggest you run, don't walk, to get a copy. Just be careful not to trip...you'll just have to spend a round getting back up.

Mistruth

Mistruth's length and depth synergize to give a great filler-with-a-chaser experience.

Broom Service

The Kiki's Delivery Service vibe and the ease of play makes it great as a family-style game. Well, except that whole mean thing.

Moon Colony Bloodbath

If super slick gameplay, dead-on theme/art, and a wholly entertaining overall experience is the price of a Moon Colony Bloodbath. I, for one, welcome our robot overlords.

The King's Dilemma

Maybe I should buy a shadowbox and display it as “My Dilemma” in the dusty recesses of my board game closet.
