Disclaimer: I started off as a huge fan of the starter sets and then was tapped to lead playtesting on this and other early Summoner Wars releases, but the game was singular enough to launch a little indie company off the ground. They've now headed a different direction than this stripped down card battler, which reminds me of Race for the Galaxy with direct interaction and a spatial element.

For me, this game obsoletes its predecessors (Puerto Rico, San Juan) and just about every mid weight Euro in less than half the time.

I wish more modern Euros were made in this style.

I could go on forever about this game. I kind of already have if you ever go to heroscapers.com
