The years following the release of Dominion brought on a slew of Deck Builders. Some have survived, while others have fallen by the wayside and gone out-of-print. One of the later is Nightfall. Considering the amout of ink Nightfall recieved on this site, I would have never predicted that Nightfall would be the AEG Deckbuilder to fade away, while Thunderstone (which is close in age to Nightfall), has evolved and still continues to be supported. Nightfall's Chaining* mechinism felt so innovative and exciting at the time. Although it was a bit fiddly and resolving it was...

The sun has retreated from the earth. It has been a little over a week since the last hint of light shone over the horizon, and the chaos has begun. People fear for their existence, while scientists strug- gle to explain the phenomenon. Until they came. The creatures of nightmare - vampires, werewolves, and ghouls - have begun to appear throughout the world. Nightfall is a fast and furious deck-building game of supernatural horror.

This is not meant to be a review by any means, just a brief roundup of my feelings on the game so far. My copy of Nightfall arrived today, and, lucky for me, it was game night. We ended up playing it twice, once with 3 players and again with 5. Now up until this point, Puzzle Strike has been my deckbuilding game of choice. I think the deckbuilding mechanic itself is clever, but I found Dominion to be solvable to an extent that expansions can't really fix it without drastically...

Groff Deathbloodfang, squire of East L.A. and fire marshal of the apocalypse, spread his leathery vampire wings and swooped down out of the night. His prey was below him, hot blood filling his nostrils like the cream in a chocolate eclair. He dove down, down, down, down, down, down and one more time down, claws extended to pluck his dinner out of the inky blackness and devour the human's terror. He was a wolf on wings, a wolverine in a hang glider, a badger on roller skates.
