As for game play, no it's not an epic game like Twilight Imperium, Descent or Arkham Horror. It's simple and plays through in about an hour. Just the other week I played it with one of my Descent buddies and our wives and it turned out great.

Their new game, A Touch of Evil, is a little better for older players, but I think it is like stepping from the 9-12 age of LNOE to the 13-15 age. A good game, quick, and fun; however, it really feels like Arkham Lite. Perhaps Flying Frog will continue to make games that are a leaping off point for young ATers -- nothing wrong with that.
These and other comments in this thread reminded me of "serious" Wargamers describing Heroscape which is one of my favourite games. I think I'm gonna love LNoE when I finally get my hands on it. Perhaps I am destined to be a forever young ATer.

Nothin' wrong with that. Not one thing.

LNOE is pretty well-done light-hearted fun. Yes, zombies are done to death these days--how far down does it have to be when Lock-n-Load is bringing us a zombie game? That's barely a half-step away from MMP giving us Film History ASL #1--"Pittsburgh Exurb: Zombie Cabin Assault!" And, yea, it's absolutely a stoner game, no two ways about it. But, unless someone adapts AH's Gunslinger to a Zombie-crawl--which I actually think has been done, though I can't find the link I had for the files at the moment--I don't see how there can ever be such a thing as a "meaty zombie game for adults."

-- Not nearly enough zombies to kill.
-- Too much standing around.
-- Your stuff breaks too much.
For theme, I'll go RPG any day. Fine looking though -- they spent some time on the look, and it shows.
