I've been trying to keep my collection down to about 100. Just get rid of any games you don't really like.

I limited my comments to stuff that I've actually played and/or had a real stong opinion about.

You know Matt, this is a great way to do a geeklist and get some feedback on it. I may do one in this format as well (not in the 99 item thing, but rather talking through your wishlist).

Taking this another direction, you know what is funny is how you can basically have a geeklist, forum, thread, etc that no one else will participate in but your friends on BGG. Like this list. It's a decent list where you speculate about why you want them, etc. Enough content to support a discussion. Yet everyone who commented on the thread is from around here. Of course, we had a discussion amongst ourselves, but it might as well have just been titled F:AT members only!

Heh, well I tried to return the favour of passing some comments but I know next to nothing about a lot of those games :)

I can play War of the Ring PBEM though, if you want to try before you buy, as I said in the list. Let me know.

Gary

If you decide to pull the trigger on WotR, take a hunt around the CSW marketplace before shelling out the big bucks for a new copy. A lot of folks over there seem to have either been suckered into thinking it was more a "wargame" a la the old SPI edition and were put off by its 'trashy glory or they just simply decided it wasn't their cuppa [Everyone's tastes are different, but I really did find it funny when one guy complained that the "set-up was too long" but he had Case Blue listed as "on the table" at the moment). Either way, I've seen deals pop up for the base game + expansion for $50 or just the base game for $30-40; in all cases, the sellers were reputable CSW marketplace regulars and the game was played only a few times. Shipping might be a bit of a bitch, but the prices were unbeatably low.

OK: What the fuck is going on with the double text showing up in my posts but not seeing it in the editing block to fix it...
