Is Dune-ish going to be out in 2008?

I've been saving my game money for this puppy. I've heard nil since the announcement to obtaining the rights. What's the scoop?

This is FFG we're talking about here. I think they had TIDE OF IRON coming out next quarter for two-and-a-half years. That said I second the nomination of DUNEISH as the title of this to-be-released re-themed DUNE.

Not a chance.

Cosmic Encounter should make it to shelves in 2008, which is great news, but it must be remembered that it was always intended to be the first of The Eon Three (CE, Twilight: Dune, and Borderlands). The other two games have generated no official news from FFG, no buzz from the unwashed masses, no leaked spy photos, no news at GenCon, and on and on ... and here we are at Sept. 15. Hell, CE itself is not even mentioned in FFG's latest official "upcoming games" update, which was posted three days ago.

So, no ... not a chance in hell that Dune: Imperium arrives in the next 3.5 months. I'm hoping for Q2 in 2009, personally, and even that might be optimistic.

I will probably buy it despite the change in flavor. If I don't like the new one, I can always use the components anyway, and then just switch it back to Dune with scans on to label paper and an hour or two of scissorwork.

Hmmmmm....maybe they could call it "Sandpile."
