Yay! Because they have done such a wonderful job with the Avalon Hill games I have HIGH hopes for Heroscape which is moving to WOTC!

I want to brightside this, but it's not a good sign. WotC has re-invented the ability to disappoint their customers. HECATOMB!! No. MAGE KNIGHT!! No. EVERY OTHER MtG EXPANSION!! No. NEXUS OPS!! No.Take your pick--they crap on people a lot.

Not looking good for Marvel Heroscape ... it's expansion was due out pre-christmas and the pictures have been up on the geek since early this year.

Yeesh, doesn't bode especially well. I'm slightly surprised, wasn't heroscape pretty darned profitable?

Not Mage Knight then--the one that is exactly like Mage Kn ight in every way except made by WotC. DREAMBLADE!! No.

Heroscape was pretty bold for them and is entirely out of the scope of a large SKU-driven corporation. A product like that needs a smaller, more mobile publisher.

Argh ... no Marvel expansion to look forward to. I mean, yes, that's sort of a guess, but, come on, this is WotC. There's no limit to the number of ways that those geniuses will change and screw up this game and its legacy.

Maybe they will screw up the model scales like they did for many of the A&A minis. Just think, the heroes could wipe out the monsters just by stepping on them because someone messed up the scale and no one bothered to catch it before full production. But no worries. Half way through the series, they will arbitrarily change scale in an effort to "fix" the problem so that your old models look like baby versions of the new models.

So judging from the little blurb over on heroscapers about wave 8 being this summer, should we expect the swamp terrain pack also went bye bye? And, yeah, no mention of marvel expansions at all. . .

Don't give up on Heroscape just yet. WOTC is on heroscapers.com, and they're dropping some interesting info - like promising to still release the Marvel expansion.

I guess now is a good time to go an grab some of those cheap base sets while they are still on the shelves. I'm not totally into this but my nephew is 6 and really loves the Crossbows and Catapults I got him recently.
