The first Final Fantasy (and only good one in my opinion) did not have robots and aliens.

My gameboy advance cartridge says otherwise.

Shit -- I stand corrected. I went back and checked out the poster that came with the original NES game. There is 1 robot monster (Warmech) that has about a 5% spawn rate and guards Tiamat's lair entrance. I never recall running into him, but he is in the game nonetheless.

There are also sentinals / guards which were pretty common in that area too.

The rules are up. Lets see what this expansion is really all about.

The rules state that the winner EITHER finds the princess and returns her, OR heads to the green vale and beats Arshan into submission.

That might just save the game for me. :) Beating the guy up I can handle. I just can't get into the princess crap.

Is that true? I still havn't read the rules to Android yet so I wont get to these for ages.

Quoting directly from the rulebook, duplicating their emphasis:

"Object of the Game

In The Frozen Wastes, the object of the game is to either travel to the Green Vale and defeat Arshan in combat, or to find Princess Taira's crashed colony ship by following the clues and then deliver her to Arshan at Green Vale. The first player to do either one of these is the winner."

Or were you asking if it was true that I could handle beating up a guy? ;) Have anyone in particular in mind? :)

I misread you, I thought you said you could rescue the princess then tell Arshan to bugger off.

I see no reason you can't house rule the game so you beat the snot out of the guy first, then go search for your princess. First one who bags her then, gets her! Or maybe that's "deserves her". :p

Can you rescue and beat up the princess? Or take her hostage so the other players cant get at her, drag her to the Vale, drop off next door, and kick her husband's ass? Does that seem fun or purposeful?

I wonder if the rumor cards lead you to choose one path or another...

What makes you decide what you're gonna do?

Wake up in the morning burn your mouth on a cup of hot cocoa in the ski chalet and go off on a sci-fi/fantasy style bloodbath?

After all you aren't gonna be rescuing all the yetis and wendigos along the way are you?

This might explain things... I wonder if FFG used this same focus group? :D
