Need Cthulhu Wars buying advice!

I'm happy to sell my Onslaught 3 at the cost it was to me if anyone is interested and missed out. Just like Drew said we really enjoy the game but we only play it with 4 so a lot of the expansion stuff is not needed for our group. New stuff looks cool and I think is shipping pretty soon.

My main concern is being able to do 5 players.

Anyone close to Cincinnati,OH can get a good deal on my stuff. I will NOT ship this sucker.

Wait. What's Onslaught 3? I don't keep up with the KS transfigurations. The version of Wars that I picked up recently (at kind of a steal) was, I think, the Onslaught 3 version because the rulebook has the complete rules for the other factions and the neutral Ancient Ones and so on. I have more than 3 other people interested in playing, so I was kind of thinking about picking up Yog-Sothoth (not least because i'm a fan of that character) and Windalker, but I can't find them anywhere. Did they show up in Onslaught 3 or...?

I will echo that the high priests and the three original faction expansions are all that are worth getting, possibly with the 6-8 player map too. That is more than enough game for anyone.

For my personal play style, the only non-base faction I have really enjoyed is Wind Walker. Either tied or a close second for my favorite faction, with Black Goat.

The thing I love about these sorts of games (I haven't played CW) is that a lot of times some factions will just click with you while someone you know will be like "god I fucking hate playing as that faction." I find that dynamic really fun, I was just talking about it in that Spirit Island thread.

That always makes me hew towards a more expansions mindset in these sorts of game systems, probably to my detriment. I can't imagine it in such an expensive game as CW though.

I just posted my CW Onslaught 3 pledge as an auction at BGG. If any FATie wants to purchase it at the BIN price, I will throw in the base game for just shipping cost. A good amount of game for anyone who hadn't pulled the trigger on CW before!
