The prices they are charging for this seem insane to me.

Doomseeker, also on that link, is a game I can get behind.

It's been on preorder for a while for those registered on their forums. I was interested, until I saw the price they wanted. When their version is more expensive than the full 40k starter, I think they're doing it wrong. I'll wait for retail/clearance.

Yeah, I was on that early preorder list too. I saw the prices and quailed. It is kind of outrageous.

I also got to thinking, why would I play this over 8th edition?

Yep, price is insane. I had the chance for "early pre-order". I'd rather wait until they hit digital.

Receiving the Desert of Wrath expansion and a few other odds and ends for Shadows of Normandie from the last kickstarter and getting ready to play that made me check out the Black reach stuff again.

I want it, but 150 Euros plus 55 for shipping for the cheaper(!) starter bundle and, like everyone else on this thread, I might as well play full on 40K.

On the plus side, I'm a sucker for Weird War themed stuff and, and DoW looks awesome (Mummies! Crocmen! Mummy crocmen! Giant Djinn! Sweet desert maps!). I'm just hoping they keep adding to the SoN world and it doesn't get left in the dust by the 40K juggernaut.

I am extremely into this idea as I have always, always wanted a real 40k tactical wargame w/chits and crunch. Price *is* steep though.

Dibs on Barnes' copy, I guess! Anyone played this? Would love to hear more, I just read up a bit on the system and it sounds like a good fit in terms of outsized drama/hero action and 40k.

Heroes of Black Reach is insanely expensive. Wasn't this company going bankrupt? I recall some sort of financial woes.

Looks like 59 at cool stuff which doesn't completely blow my head up though maybe the content is thin. But I'm not that into minis and I buy lots of marginally produced wargames.

It is hilarious to think it's about the same price as seal team flix though.

Yeah, I played this back when it was $4 on Tanga and called Frontiers.

Well it seems that this one is the most complex iteration of the bunch. Seems the note for streamlining went over these guys' headsI don't like how upgrade stripe colors are not so different. Also, composition is weird af (not enough tactical and boys).

I think there is plenty of content and lots of units to play with. It is weird that the scale is sort of incongruous with typical 40k,
But how many Boyz can you pack onto a chit.

Complexity, it’s kind of hard to say becaus I was really familiar with the previous games.
It does seem like there has been a little streamlining, but it is still a complex system. I think it seems less complex than Shadows.

$60 is a good price on it, I think. There really is a lot in the box.

I always thought Heroes of Normandie was tragically bad. Can't see that putting in the 40k universe is going to alter that.
