FIREBALL ISLAND RETURNS
You certainly shouldn't feel guilty for seeing it for what it is.

I gotta say, I do think they are handling the KS exclusive garbage the right way, by not planning to offer them at all.
But the planned stretch goals are tosh.
I may sound.like a grumpy old man, but Everytime I see stretch goals that are fun only for the creators, I feel like I'm listening to Donald Trump mansplain how what he wants is for everyone's benefit.
Like, this guy gets a car if we reach 5 mil in cash, or in the case of tiny epic whatever, designer gets a night out with his wife. All noble things, but why do I really care? Just give the guy a car after the campaign if you reach that goal instead of putting 'fun' pressure on the backers to make that happen?
I know. I'm a cynical twat I guess. I just don't get it and them calling it 'fun' makes me feel guilty that I don't understand when I know I'm getting smoke blown up my ass.
But if KS is really not a preoder site (ha) then why are you peddling this crap to investors for retail price (shipping is being charged, but apparently subsidized so that you aren't charged more than it would cost at retail) and then pour all these 'fun' stretch goals all over it?
Another reason to call that site Kicksucker.

also interesting that I left a comment but.it seems to have.not passed moderation, despite being overall encouraging about the project.
I did tell them it would be more fun for backers to save some money on shipping for giving an interest free loan.
But we'll see if it passes their test. If not then they are just like Christian Peterson, who'll only accept the most self congratulatory praise that offers nothing constructive. I don't view restoration like that, but we'll see.

If we had Kicksucker back in the early 2000's the Ameritrash movement on BGG never would have happened. People are all over AT style games now that they've got an "I work for Google" level price tag and Russian-bots level of marketing behind them and of course "exclusivity" so people can one-up each other's collections.

Assuming sufficient stock at retail and that these retailers are getting these at 50% MSRP as indicated then marking them up by roughly 50% of that (rough estimate), you could probably get everything from an OLGS for $110-120 including (free) shipping.
Core: $50-55
Pirate ship: $30-35
Tiger/bee garbage: $10
5th player: $18-20
So bottom range $108, top range $120? I have no firm idea of what the typical OLGS markup is, though.
I don't see a reason to back any of this unless I care about getting it early.

This is where I'm at. I want this to play with my kid mainly, but it's a no brainer to wait for retail.
