For those that have played this how interactive is the game? Compared to something like Terraforming Mars or Time of Crisis. I only skimmed the rules and it reads more on the multiplayer solitaire side.

Closer to Terraforming Mars than ToC as far as interaction. It's an exploration game after all.

GMT, NOooooo!

SpaceCorp. The ugly surprise happened early this week, when designer John Butterfield brought to our attention that four of the mid-late game cards in SpaceCorp are missing. We did a quick check of scores of boxes, and they are all missing those four cards. Clearly, we should have caught this error earlier (I'm really glad John caught it when he did, or we would have a bigger problem if we had shipped them all out), but we all missed it - even with a bunch of proof copies. Sometimes human error just jumps up and bites us, and that's what happened here. Fortunately, Tony and Mark got with our printers and ordered a rush shipment on the four missing cards. We now anticipate that we'll have the cards in the warehouse around December 5-6 and can begin inserting, repacking, and shipping all the SpaceCorp orders then.

I'm guessing January/February.

I've almost finished the first one and . . . I don't like it. I don't see it enhancing my enjoyment of the game, may actively detract from it.

You know, it's telling that Butterfield caught this error. He's the last guy that should have. He shouldn't even be looking at the game much less verifying its inventory. But he's a details guy and that shows in his designs. He gets everything locked down.

I'm lucky if I get 30% locked down.

In theory, this started shipping to pre-pubs yesterday.

I'm not on the P500 list. I've pre-ordered through a local store where I have a few hundred in store credit, so I have to wait until it goes through Alliance to my store. But -- I get it at no charge. I'm hoping it's available to me prior to Christmas.

With the delay for the missing cards, it's unlikely I'll see it before Christmas as a P500 backer. Seems like new GMT games that I've ordered have shown up at MM and CSI a couple of weeks after I've gotten it (and I always seem to be near the end of the list), so I wouldn't count on seeing it.

GMT really does need to appoint someone to do new-game inventory. They also recently failed to send the random spaces chart with the Fire in the Lake update kit. Volko took the fall for that one, but this ought to have been a detectable problem by others at/associated with the company.

In short, they need a qualified project manager.

Fairly or not, the video guy sort of lost me when he said he was going to read along with and to us.

I think this is one of those cases where more people than usual are interested in a "wargame" (because GMT makes wargames), because of the theme, and perhaps feel as though they can't learn the rules. I actually do like playthroughs sometimes, when the game is opaque or rules heavy or the like and I want to get a sense of how the game's played in order to teach it or at least play it myself, but I have to admit that I've never really understood the desire to learn rules to complex games from video, but that's maybe because I just don't have the right mindset for it.

Edit: Looks like mine's coming Friday, though I won't be able to get to it until at least the next week.
