Star Trek 2018 isn't Star Wars 2018, by any means, but there'd be enough interest out there to yield a Fleet Captains 2.0 KS in at least the mid-/high six figures with even minimally adequate prepaints. Slap together an Admiral's or Kirk box or something for $300, $350, $400.

STFC is definitely worth playing even with the mediocre components (the worst of which are really the tiles, which should've been like Ascendancy system disks but are instead black-edged paper, and even then they couldn't figure out how to mask the back side so that you couldn't tell the base and expansion content apart. Sure, you can laminate and mask them yourself--well, *you* could; I couldn't--but $100 is a pretty high price to pay when the centerpiece components are just recycled ships and the rest are largely substandard.

Anyway, back to the show. What I liked about prime Z-man were its quirkiness and eclecticism. Could be hints of that emerging here.

I'm resurrecting this because I'm still amazed at the kind of chances Zev is taking with a reasonably big company. It is *wild* and awesome.
