Lords of Hellas was created by Smeagol
I searched for this thinking it had to be a topic at some point, but I can't find it. Mentioned it on the FB group, no response.

Does nobody play Lords of Hellas? I'm starting to think I'm that guy bringing up politics a garden party, nobody wants to hear it. I was hoping to get opinions from......people who's opinions I have read a lot and trust I guess.

I think Charlie really likes it...I haven’t played it yet myself.

It "looks" really cool. But in a world where I have Blood Rage, Rising Sun, Kemet, and Cyclades, all gathering dust even more if I buy another 'guy's in mythology setting fighting on a map' game.......I'm not sure I can justify it unless it eclipses one of them.

I pledged for the Kickstarter, but unlike Charlie, I opted for 1 wave shipping, which means I don't get anything until who knows when. He has the base game already. From what I hear, the game is good to great.

And without a doubt, it looks cool. :)

It's my #2 game of the year right behind Rising Sun.

I wrote an inspired review about it: playerelimination.com/2018/04/02/hellas-yes/

It's been a huge hit in my group. Feels like it has elements of multiple genre standouts - Runewars, Cyclades, Blood Rage, but it stands on its own and doesn't feel exactly like anything else.

Part of that is because of the excellent hero system and how it does what Runewars never really could.

Joel Eddy (who still lurks I think), loves it possibly more than I do. I think he said it was one of his favorite games in the entire genre.

On the positive side for anyone who hasn't backed, no one's received any stretch goals or anything, so the opinions/buzz you're hearing is based entirely on the base game.

It's a fantastic design. We played through a portion of a hideously bungled game at DTC but even then I was impressed with it.

I am pretty sure it's up there with the best of these types of designs.

EDIT: Or just read what Charlie wrote above. Spot on.
