CMON is probably the highest grossing KS game company out there, they have got this racket down cold. Get the FOMOs to front them money to print ( note the short campaign to ship window ) so they can turn around and wholesale it to the resellers who pay on terms after they get the product.

Back in the early 2000s there was a company run by David Doust called New Wave Miniatures, which was sort of an early online mega shop that sold a lot of products from places it was otherwise difficult to get from at the time. Games like Confrontation.
New Wave became notorious for taking orders for products they didn’t have in stock and never restocking or refunding the money. Sometimes customers would get partial orders. They never responded to emails or phone calls.
Of course, I was one of the people who ordered from them and never received what I paid for.
Then one day New Wave declared bankruptcy and CMON was born.
And some people noticed that the same David Doust that stole their money as New Wave owned CMON.
So whenever I read about CMON shenanigans screwing over customers, I recall that company was started on stolen money from people like me, so the dna is built in. Bad customer service? Getting ignored or lied to? Bait and switch? A certain percentage of every project not receiving their product and not offered a refund? It’s a decades-long practice.

As a backer you're purchasing the entire package, game, company, the works. As far as I'm concerned that's the backer's business not mine. It's pretty apparent that this is a feature of the hobby now so people buying games this way need to get used to it.

CMON is Queen Games with miniatures. They're the "AAA Publisher" (insert Jim Sterling voice) of the industry, alongside Asmodee. After selling off Massive Darkness and Arcadia Quest & watching reskin after reskin of Zombicide, I've basically written them off.

It wasn’t too early in ‘91. Go ahead and put it in the cart

And they are correct.
It's kind of a self-selection thing. The people that are complaining about this kind of stuff invariably are the people that follow the complaint with the phrase, "but what you gonna do? You HAVE to back it or you won't be able to get it." That's the target market segment. If CMON can string together enough people like this to get their game funded more power to them, and frankly the bad press isn't going to hurt at all. These same people are comfortable coming back again.
The rest of the gaming world has already walked, and isn't terribly interested in the topic short of the occasional "I told you so" that makes them feel superior. I'm firmly in this camp and I'm feeling pretty smug at the moment. These people don't matter much, because they aren't buying CMON games, at least not pre-pubbing them.
