Looks like Brett Murrell of Duel of Ages fame is at it again. There's a new iteration of his magnum opus, now called Worldspanner Factions. Details are a little scant, but it looks like the first three sets (of six) will be released late next year, covid-permitting. The last three come in 2023.

I'm a big fan of Duel of Ages II, even though it's the ultimate shelf toad. Still a special game, and I'm really excited for this one.

Here's the link to the announcement on the Worldspanner website.

Here's the BGG thread announcement.

My Duel of Ages II is certainly a shelf toad. I love it, but it remains to be seen if this new version would make me want to trade up.

He says he’s brought down the ruleset to be even cleaner and shorter, comparable to Terraforming Mars. Not sure if that translates to a game that’s easier to get played.
