What? Selling ROOT? Blasphemy, I know. It just doesn't see the table here and I don't think it ever really will to the degree it would be necessary.

I didn’t care for Root so to me it makes sense you’re selling it. I played it twice and it felt like I wasn’t at the same table with the other players. So political digs aside I agree with your opinion.

That said, everybody else frikkin’ loves it. I’m clearly the minority vote.

As much as I like it, I don’t think I’ve played my physical copy more than three or four times for nearly two years!

I mostly play 2p stuff these days, or Oath with the guys I used to play Root with… or D&D.

I just got Root back to the table last week after a bit of a hiatus. It felt fantastic. Three players with Cats, Moles, and Ronin Vagabond. Finally won with the Cats.

Someone should buy this.

I must admit I was surprised that this offer lasted longer than 5 minutes. It would make a great gift! ROOT should be under your tree..... because that's where roots go. Is this thing on?

Has anyone tried the ROOT app? I ask because I backed the first run of Street Masters stuff and the app version of the game is free and has basically fired the physical version for me.

I'm still pining for a physical copy of ROOT but it might never get played. Is the app version acceptable?

I've played the new Switch version of the app pretty extensively over the past week (I'm reviewing it for Polygon).

I think the implementation is pretty strong, however, it's a very dense game that's difficult to learn. This means it's actually more difficult to learn in the digital game because information is obscured (it's harder to look at player boards, follow opponent's actions, and know where you can spot things like discarded Dominance cards).

However, it includes a very solid tutorial which is very good. So overall it's kind of a wash. For the type of game Root is, I'd personally rather play it face to face as diplomacy and discussion is a big part of area control for me, but I do think it's a very good app.

It's also all cross platform so you can play against everyone, whether they have it on PC, iPad, or Switch.
