Honestly, I don’t know if I really care.in weeding stuff out to fund a guitar purchase, I realized that I just have a ton of 2p skirmish stuff…all of which are better and more interesting than Heroscape albeit without the plastic terrain. Like, I can’t imagine playing it over Godtear or Unmatched. So kind of a meh feeling about it, really. Definitely a shocker though.

Yeah, I already sold off all of my stuff, and I am anticipating it being more subdued, like that Magic the Gathering game that was out a few years ago.

I think it was MB who suggested that we don't want Heroscape per se, but that we want to recapture that specific time in gaming.

Warcry has dominated my 2-4 player skirmish niche and Games Workshop just released all of the new edition's rules, stats, and point values for free. I'm curious to see New Heroscape's price point, because Warcry has it beat on variety and setup time.

I find the timing interesting. About 20 years from when Heroscape was introduced. Just the right amount of time for people who grew up on Heroscape to introduce it to their kids.

This is definitely the time to release something which is mostly a gigantic pile of plastic. What better than a redo of a game that originally died because cost of plastic manufacturing got prohibitively high? Surely that sort of thing couldn't happen twice.

We've kicked the price of A Big Pile O' Plastic around on here IIRC. A $100+ price tag doesn't blow people's minds like it used to during Heroscape's heyday, even ignoring inflation. Maybe it'll stick this time.

What does ‘sticking’ even mean? It had a 7 year run or so. All is ephemeral.

I’m not as excited about this as one might guess. I don’t know who I’d play it with. And driving to tons of tournaments doesn’t seem possible with my obligations now.
