Budget classics: really great games, new or used, for $30 or less.

What are some great games that are $30 or less, used, that are filled with narrative and loads of fun. Think Space Hulk Death Angel, but affordable, or Pax Porfiriana, but affordable. Bonus points if my kids will play them, but heavier games or fine because they promised me they'd play a heavier game over the break.

That’s sorted low to high by price, which front loads a bunch of expansions you’ll have to skim past. But there’s some good stuff in there. Omen: Reign of War for $7!

Fast & Furious Highway Heist - kind of cooperative Thunder Road

Hellapagos - Brutal semi-cooperative cutthroat game

Jaws - Hidden movement game based on the film, think Fury of Dracula light to some degree

The Mirroring of Mary King - two player only, kind of area control style game with card play

Kill Doctor Lucky

a couple of Magic: the Gathering starter decks

Zombies!!! - I know that everybody puts this game down, but the base game would be fun for kids. Simple rules, handles up to six players, and includes 100 plastic zombies and enough cardboard tiles to simulate at least a town. The secret to enjoying Zombies!!! is to use a short timer. The scope of the board and the quantity of zombies can lead to some analysis paralysis, but a timer will force quicker decisions and maintain a more exciting pace.
