A Michael Barnes pull quote wasn't on my bingo card today

Just got my copy of the new Magical Athlete edition, and much to my surprise there was a small sleeve on it with a handful of reviewer quotes, with Michael Barnes featured front and center... Above the Dice Tower no less. No telling when that quote was written.

Incidentally, other than the cover art (imo), the new production looks to be excellent, with chunky heat transferred meeples and subtle improvements throughout. And unless you're Charlie Theel, the new board looks great.

Ha! That's amazing. Always try to make sure your quotes are eternally recyclable, I guess, even if it's for a second/third/fourth/whathaveyou edition.

Like I was telling Charlie the other day, I'm still attached to my original and was thinking that this game is one of the few where it might be worth having two versions on the shelf. Haven't gotten my copy of the new one yet, but he said that the new one would send the old out the door. But, yeah, the old dirt path was definitely part of the charm.

If Josh Look doesn't have a pull quote on Camp Grizzly, that will be an injustice.

Just have to chime in here to say that the production on this edition is simply excellent. Both the meeples and the cards came in printed, thick paper bags that I will definitely be retaining to keep them in the box. This is really great work.

I agree, I just got mine and for the price the production is pretty crazy.

Mine showed up and it is amazing. The kid beat me in a 2p game (with 2 racers per race each).

Played last night for the first time ever with just two players. Takes me back to kindergarten and the "letter people" images from 1975. Lots of fun, even though I didn't win.

Ordered some colorful, wooden blocks to make into 1st, 2nd, and last place stands for the racers. Really looking forward to a full game with six!

Discovered today that Mr. Barnes will be writing some columns about older, classic games on Goonhammer. A thread here directed me there for his Lorcana content, but that column has come to a close. I have been playing Lorcana for about a year, and enjoyed his work on that subject. I am looking forward to his take on some classic games.

Yeah, I think it should be interesting. I'll be interested in where he's at on classic games since he just came off of an extended dive back into CCGs.
