Yeah, as the rules are, you can have situations where someone is on the crown and another player cannot die because they have so much life and stuff and they can usually land on healing stuff. Or worse, they have the poltergeist (you only move 1 space) and they are next to the church or some other healing thingy.

I would play so that players can no longer heal when someone gets to the crown of command, or that the command spell never misses and instantly kills everyone else (first person to the crown wins).

The person in question had plenty of life and the wand. The wand let him keep cycling through the spells. just when I thought I had him down, he'd get a timely healing spell or something. This kept on going. If he had gotten the Runesword, he could have gone forever.

I love the endgame, much moreso than the 3rd edition version. In 3rd ed the first person to kill the dragon king won, but it often felt anti-climatic. I like now how the person in the middle is essentially the big bad and has to be killed.

All the editions except 3rd are like that.
