New Descent expansion rumors

There's a thread on BGG of rumors of a new Descent expansion mentioned on a brochure at GAMA.

I dunno, that guy's "scan" of the brochure is pretty shoddy. I'd expect FFG to do some kind of full color, nicely designed brochure, not something from Kinkos. But I guess if they were in a rush ...

If it is real I can guarantee you we will not see it this year. We all know how FFG works.

In the meantime, finally picked up our Descent campaign again tonight. It's down to just a two-player campaign as my brother-in-law moved away. I managed to let my lieutenant Sir Alric Farrow get killed! Man I hate Nanok of the Blade! And I don't have enough conquest to buy another lieutenant until the heroes go through another dungeon. I totally should've gotten the second Farrow instead of point of treachery last time we played.

Nanok of the Blade is as close to broken as a character can get in Descent.

In my campaign (i'm OL) Nanok has GRAPPLE.

So all he does is get next monsters, stand in strategic locations, and deny me the ability to move past him. It's killer.

I spoke with Kevin about it last month. It is real. Some of the creature abilities are really cool. No pun consciously intended.

Word on the street is that it's an artic/ice themed thing...ice caves, deadly snowmen, probably some kind of popsicle monster...

Nope. I wasn't going to spill the beans, but in FFG's attempt to license everything in the world they also got the JACK FROST license and that will be included in that game. It will be semicooperative.

Yeah, I heard it's ice themed. I'd like to see some elementals. Fire elementals, earth elementals, ice elementals and the like. I guess the golems are already kinda like earth elementals.

Well, it's cool that they're working on it, but I don't expect it to come out this year. And as it is, I've already got enough on my plate with Well of Darkness, Altar of Despair (which I only got in December and haven't played much yet) AND Road to Legend.

All told, I've probably only played through like 5 quests in Journeys in the Dark, 2 in Well of Darkness and 1 in Altar of Despair, and a couple FFG has released on the Web site.

Good news that Descent will get more Lovin' from FFG. What they really need to do is include a snow cone machine.
