I LOVE this game. Running around in Sunnydale trying to find the items that you need in order to defeat the "Big Bad". Fighting, rolling handfuls of colorful dice with stakes and bites on them, players cursing across the table at each other. What could be better? Can be played one on one, or players can work cooperatively as the "Scooby Gang". This is an older game by (no-way!) Hasbro, so no wooden pieces and such, but nonetheless the board and character pieces are beautiful. Overall, this is a surprisingly fun and well thought out game. Fun for everybody, but a special treat for fans of the show. Just be careful playing this game with Ubarose because she's likely to accidentally kick someone in the head while acting out the last turns sequence of events!

I've only gotten to play this game once. It was the kids versus the Mayor. Oz turned into a werewolf right away and began dominating the board, killing all of the minions easily which annoyed the Mayor-player. Through luck of the dice, iirc, he ended up remaining a werewolf for most of the game. A good time was had by all though as we were all fans of the show.

The Buffy game reminds me a whole lot of Last Night on Earth. I think a fan of one should also be a fan of the other.

I recently played a game as the evil player and won by cornering Buffy and beating her to death with my last two minions: Demon Kathy and (human form) Veruka. So satisfying...

No surprise, Buffy is one of my favorite games. It is a lot like Last Night on Earth, but it also has a bit of corridor battle in it. The is less room to maneuver so positioning is more important. I also find playing the big bad more interesting and challenging in Buffy than playing the Zombies in LNoE.

The down side of Buffy is that it only has four scenarios and we have played them to death.

This is one I need to finally track down and play; I have no doubt I'd enjoy it.

Too bad we never got an Angel version; I always preferred that show more. Who wouldn't enjoy playing Bad Ass Wesley and offing some demons?

Ubarose, I believe that there are a couple of additional scenarios posted at BGG, one of which includes new playing pieces to download and construct.

Ken, I've had my eye on this game for a while, so I listed it as a "want" at BGG. On average, at least once a month somebody puts a copy up for sale. With the economy headed to the dumpster, I expect that more people will be selling off games soon, and the price will fall low enough to be reasonable.

Don't know where you're located Shell, but, like Battleball, Buffy is becoming a thrift store staple. I've found a couple for well under $2 [and I can almost guarantee every copy popping up for sale at BGG was thrifted]. Take a look at your local Value Village/Goodwill/Savers/Salvation Army before dropping any significant coin on this one.

EDIT: Just looked at your profile. If you're actually in St. Paul, *absolutely* hit some local thrift stores now and again for Buffy. I know from a couple of local (to you) BGGers that you have particularly fertile (for games) thrift hunting grounds up there. You should be able to dig up a playable copy of Buffy for a couple of bucks with only a modicum of effort...
