FFG'S Battlestar Galactica website is up!!!

Only light skimming of this thread, for reasons that will be made apparent.

So are there any spoilers on the FFG site for the series? I'm just starting 2.5

Can't recall any off the top of my head.
Enjoy it while it lasts, 3.0 is where it starts to go off the rails.

I played this 3 times at GenCon.

Jeb, the dead space that you are seeing is filled during game play by Basestars, cylon raiders, vipers, raptors, and tokens for civilian ships. Not always but that is what it is there for. The character mechanics are well thought out, with each one having strengths in certain areas such as "Command" "piloting" "repair" etc. The card you draw based on those skills are used to determine the outcome of events cards.

You dont want to fail those. Very bad things happen, and this is where I think the game starts to shine. If you are the cylon player, which is determined by a random card draw, you want to blow those skill checks. So you put in the wrong kind of card. There are a number of random cards form the "Destiny deck" that get thrown in with the players, so if you see one off color card, its a random deal. If you see several, you have someone trying to sink you Battlestar.

So now you have to try and sniff out the Cylon. But it gets better. Just because you started the game Human doesnt mean you stay that way. Remember Boomer? Thought she was human till she busted some caps into the Admiral. Same thing in the game, halfway thru, you get more cards that tell you if you are still human, or you turn toaster. The more players in the game, the more players that can go to the other side.

I am not even touching on so much of the game, this post could run to god knows how long if I did that.

I am pissed that this was not the first thing I did at GenCon, so I would have know to run from the demo table to the FF cash register and buy a couple copies. This game is going to end up at the top of the groups most played list in a hurry.

Everyone of them has the chance to be a cylon. You can stage a coup and any one can be president, or Admiral. This game is fun and easy to get hooked on. It has layers and layers to it. This was by far the best thing at the convention.

Thanks for the update, Echo. I'm pretty excited about this one.

Glad to be able to add to it. I did see one demo where Adama was made Pres. There are cards that can get played that either the president can act on or the Admiral but not both. But when you have a President that authorizes the Admiral to take an extra action and he is a Cylon.......

This is one I'm looking forward to playing at Essen.

Please keep the hype down until then, so we don't have to run at the opening to get to the demo in time to play, like we had to for Starcraft last year
