Shadow Hunters (Z-Man) - anybody played it yet?

So, have any F:ATties played Shadow Hunters yet? I read the rules posted on Z-Man's site and it looks kinda cool. Plus it has some slightly trashy anime-style art on the cards.

Shadow Hunters is a blast. It's been out since 2005 but we didn't discover it until playing it a WBC this week. Both Uba and I bought a copy. The game has hidden roles like Werewolf or Bang but it's a much better game. The game is very easy, it's complexity is in between Werewolf, Bang and Cash n' Guns. It plays very quickly 30-60 minutes depending on the number of players (4 - 8). We actually played it 3 times last night. So if your looking for a Trash Jr. or an Ameritrash party game and you like games like Cash n' Guns, you can get a copy for $20 - 25.

Thanks - that's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. We love all 3 games you compared it to, but Bang is really hard to teach newbies. I think I'll give this one a shot.

I don't suppose you've played Die Kutschfahrt zur Teufelsburg? It's another hidden role game that I picked up on a whim, but haven't managed to get to the table yet. Every time I take it off the shelf, my wife says, "Oh, the cuts fart game!" and things go downhill from there.

Kutschfahrt is good, my group that likes Bang likes it quite a bit. I'm not a Werewolf lover (played with the wrong people I think) but Kutsch adds enough structure and chrome to it to be fun. Also doesn't last overly long.

I'll have to give Shadow Hunters a look.

How trashy is the "slightly trashy anime style art"? Just asking to see the art would make this game a no-go with my wife.

Not too bad. There are pics on BGG and at Zman's site.

Looks decent, kind of like a simplified cross between Shadowfist and Citadels. I hope this sells well for Z-Man, so they publish the expansion in English, too. I really respect Zev, but it's been disappointing to see him chasing the Euro market in recent years. Hopefully this is a step in a more AT direction.

I already want the expansion too.

Considering that Z-man is currently working on Tales of the Arabian Nights, I don't really think that you can say he is chasing the Euro market. Once Z-man started branching out, they have always had an eclectic mix of games.

I absolutely agree.
After FFG, I think Zman has got to be the absolute best publisher in terms of the quality and diversity of great games and great AT games. AND Zman still takes unsolicited game submissions - which is VERY cool. He's definitely the biggest game in town that does that and he's at the top of my list as far as game design submissions goes.
