Any of you guys tried this S+T game? It's getting some buzz and looks cool. It doesn't look like a simulation game but that is fine with me.

Played it once, pretty damn fun game. Like you said it's more of a wargame than a consim. Uses area movement and random events that can be pretty huge. The rules are fairly clear and well-presented. In the 1 game I played as China I won the new Korean war and took taiwan. It was a blast and I recommend it.

Thanks... How are land military invasions done? AFAIK the units are all sea and air units, but there are the obvious invasion sites and the Korea war.

There are some regular ground units for the PRC but not very many. Taiwan gets ONE unit of infantry. There are helibourne troops and paratroopers for the US that are carried on amphibious assault ships. You can choose standard actions or roll an event that allows a naval force to move to a ground area (an assumption is made they're not far off shore) to conduct an attack. Some ships have an anti-ground factor they can use too.
