Has anyone looked at this? I'm considering adding it to my Christmas List since my wife put a squash on any spending on myself until after the New Year.
The
BGG
description is very detailed so do yourself a favor and read! It is a solo game though so if that isn't your thing then move along.
The concept is so unique and interesting that I may have to do an end-around before January. You're in control of training and equipping a squadron of Lancaster Bombers tasked with using a very new and experimental ordinance designed to drop from low altitude and "skip" across the surface of a lake with backspin with the goal of having it stop right at the top of a dam with the backspin causing it to roll "down" the dam as it sinks and then if all that works hopefully it'll detonate about half way down causing some cracks and hopefully the failure of the dam.
The bulk of the game lies in the planning, the developing the technology, the training the crew, while trying to keep so much secret not only from Germany but internally as well. There's a strong fog of war element when you decide to launch your raid and then you sit back and see if your planning and training paid off.
And perhaps why this caught my fancy so much is because I was engrossed by the NOVA special "Bombing Hitler's Dams".
