F:AT Here I Stand PBEM Game 1

OK. Here's Game 1. So far the lineup- if you haven't picked a side, do it, boss!

Merkles: England, Before They Went Down the Crapper
Joel: France (Non-combatants)
Orlok: Talkin' Turkey with the Turks
Malloc: The Hap-hap-happeningist Hapsburgs
Hacksword: Dirtbag Hellbound Protestants
Gary Sax: Captain of the Goodship H.I.S.

If you don't see your name, go check out Game 2.

You can be in both if you want, but don't butt out somebody from having a shot at it!

Please remember these are trial games- expect rules leniency and a lot of fuck ups.

We're using Cyberboard Gamebox and ACTS card tracking. Everything you need is on Ed Beach's HIS site.

We'll try to get things rolling ASAP.

I don't have a preference for a side, pick randomly from the powers that are left.

Protestants for Hack...seems appropriate!

I will take anything but the Turks... i have played them one and want to try something new. Looking at the list that makes me the Holy Roman Emperor!

*note that was a while ago and I don't remember much of the rules and I don't have Ed hanging around helping answer things.

Ok. Now we're going to get everybody into ACTS if they aren't already and start the game. I linked it in another thread but here's the link:

Everybody needs to e-mail me their ACTS name once they're all registered. My e-mail is garysax at gmail.com. Then I'll create a game in ACTS and cyberboard and assign everybody to the correct power. We'll move from there. this is my first time moderating so bear with me on that too.

Incidentally, I'm going to be at a conference until Sunday so the start up process will occur but I might be slightly less responsive than usual. After that I'll be more responsive.

What's the over/under on how many turns until France surrenders?

As far as France goes---France is in an interesting position---I had fun when I played as France. Of course, the Protestants wound up winning, unfortunately. Damn them all to hell!

I do not care for the Spanish style, that is for sure!

Got everybody but Hacksword and Orlok, I think. No rush, I'll be very busy tomorrow and tonight anyway. But we'll set the game up this weekend and start playing!

I would suggest someone else take the Ottomans, someone less experienced than I am. They are the easiest to pick up and play, and don't have much in the way of complicated rules.

I can play them, and have no problem doing so, though.

E-mail should be on its way.

I'd suggest a swap with Malloc as he may be in over his head as the Hapsburgs for a refresher game.

But you guys can hammer that out if you want to swap; if not, no big deal, it's a friendly game so it's not a huge deal. For now I'll assume things are going forward with Orlok as the Ottos and Malloc as the Hapsburgs unless I hear from both of you.

One left to check in I believe.

Mal's played before and he specifically didn't want to be the Turks...so let him wear the Hapsburg big boy britches. It stands.
