Thank god I'm not a ~real~ gamer.

Giganten was more cool than good, if I'm remembering it correctly. It had some neat things, like driving a little truck around to prospect and then buying contracts to build wells. I remember thinking that it needed a couple of tweaks to work with less than 4 players.

Black Gold is pretty cheap, I might grab one.

There's a seller on eBay doing them for $14.99. I think there's seven left after my purchase. Shipping is $14.35, which is $2 too much, but $29 looks like the rock bottom price. There is one copy on BGG for $18 with $12 shipping, but the eBay one is a few cents cheaper.

I grabbed a copy of Deadwood from BGG with split box corners for $15.

Man, I've been doing this marriage thing all wrong. I should start charging her for sex! Honestly, any game that takes six hours is either a wargame or is a colossal fuck up. I keep reading what I consider to be horror stories of 2-day Civilization marathon games and wonder just why anyone would rather do that than play 15 other games in the same time.

I never played Advanced Civilization, but I can see why '2-hour Civ' is a holy grail. Regular Civ was a pretty awesome game, but 90 minutes to 2 hours per player wasn't unheard of. However, this was back in the days of cassette tapes, rotary-dial phones, and Atari 800 computers.
