I think FFG has learned to leave some things alone. I'm sure there'll be new art, some component bling, maybe a play variant or two, but otherwise be the same game.

Octagons (better than hexes for this type of game) on one side of the map and the regular grid on the other?
Someone over there (points to random other game site) noticed the Euro Classics logo on the box. I hope this means they won't mess with the gameplay much, if at all. It's also a good indicator that they have at least one other game lined up for the product line.
i doubt they'd be foolish enough to mess with a Knizia design. Its not like theres lots of chrome they can rework. It would be more akin to a violinist making edits to Rachmaninoff's Concerto no 2 than a punk band remimagining a pop song. I'm not sure the market would accept it.

I'd like to see an example of that learning.
I think "Hey! That's my fish!" may be a legitimate, though rare, example.
