One thing's for certain, Disney sure knows how to license a product.

I was discussing on another forum how I wish Star Wars Carc was not in space and was instead based on different planets like Tatooine, Naboo, Hoth.

That is one of the most incongruous looking packages I've ever seen. It's not like I would miss the setting or anything, and it's not like the mechanics are intrinsically tied to it in some way. So it's kind of irrelevant what is on the actual tiles. But still, that word and the designers name just don't look right next to Star Wars. Carcassonne is an actual place that has nothing to do with the rest of the box.

You know, that's a damn good point. They should have named it Tatooine or Death Star that matched the images on the tiles. Is the presumption that this is for the hobby game market? If not the Carc name means absolutely nothing, and frankly is hard to remember and spell.

And a hamburger is a thing from Hamburg. Carcassonne is a brand, just like Catan was when they made a Star Trek of it.

Are you guys punking the noobs or something? I can't tell. I mean, it's pretty obvious that's a photoshop job. Right? There's an odd discoloration in the middle of the Death Star that screams fake.

Settlers of Star Trek or whatever the fuck that was happened years ago. This seems no worse.

There's something to be said for the Frank Herbert estate being so protective of their licensing.

Looks like they are taking a cue from Imperial Assault- sticking Star Wars pictures on an existing design. Should be just about as "thematic".

This is insanely outlandish and unnecessary. I must have it.

BTW, Star Trek Catan is now the only Catan I'll play.
