Sector 6 from Draco Ideas

07 Nov 2016 11:28 #237606 by DracoIdeas

We have now in development at Draco Ideas a new game called Sector 6.

Sector 6 tells the story of Obliti residents, a interestelar prison for life sentence convicts. Goverment doens't make easy the life into the prison, due to the lack of supplies and maintenance and the arrival of new convicts. The shortage of Oxigen gives to the labyrinth competition a great importance.

The new convicts are forced by internal mafias to run along the complicated Sector 6's corridors in order to take as many Oxygen as they can. So, they need to be faster than other convicts and they should avoid to be enclosed by the use of the complicated gates system and revolving rooms. All these make Sector 6 a prison inside a prison.

Could you escape from Sector 6 with enough Oxygen to survive in Obliti?

Players: 1 - 4.
Playing Time: 45 minutes.
Age: 8+
Designed by: Jaime González García

Game Description
Sector 6 is an abstract strategy game for 1 to 4 players, with a playing time of 30 minutes. The goal is to get as many points as possible. These points are located inside a maze formed by hexagonal tiles. Players must move across the maze and collect the points before their opponents.

The game has 2 phases: construction phase and competition phase. The board (maze) is built by the players in the first phase before the competition phase. The place where the players place their tiles is important to win. Sector 6´s building system allows planning the strategy while the maze is being created. In the absence of a predefined configuration, each game takes place in an entirely new board.

But building a good maze and moving quickly will not be enough to achieve victory. During the game, Sector 6´s maze will be in constant motion, as players can rotate the tiles. This will allow players to lock their opponents or create new aisles to get the points faster.

Greetings friends,

A new Stretch Goal has been unlocked: the Solo Mode Campaign 'The Last Test!

We have added two new stretch goals.

We are going to improve the quality of the materials to make the tiles and markers thicker, and finally, the long-awaited girl-from-the-front cover SG! This way players will be able to play with 2 different miniatures on each team.

We also want to let you know that several backers are translating the game into German, Italian and Japanese. We hope to be able to offer the respective PDF manuals online soon. We want to give a huge thanks to all of you for your help and support for the game.

And, last but not least, don't forget to retweet, make yourselves fans on BGG and Facebook to unlock the social SGs and help us spread the word about the game.

Thanks so much!

Greetings friends,

A huge thanks for your support. We've managed to stay in the TOP 3 most popular kickstarter games for quite some time.

In regards to the manuals, we've unlocked the special SG so we can now confirm that we'll include the the French manual in the game and, if we get to 166 backers from Germany, also in German.

We have rules in italian language too.

And we are so close to unlock the female miniature...

Greetings friends,

You have given us the best gift imaginable by making possible the game we've put so much blood, sweat, and tears into! For that reason be sure we'll do everything we can to make it up to you so that you get more than expected.

We have unlocked the new BGG SG with 414 game fans, so we are adding, for free, a useful bag to keep components in, like the oxygen counters.

We're getting closer to the 166 backers we asked for to include the manual in German. There are 63 backers from Germany currently, and a few from Switzerland and Austria as well.

But we also want to take advantage of this message to share with you two new Stretch Goals: the 42000$ SG is a set of new insertion points with alternative walls for a more challenging experience and the 48000$ SG includes 6 new pre-designed labyrinths with a higher level of difficulty, especially adapted for the advanced insertion points.

We are sure you like them!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone!

Greetings friends!

We've unlocked another SG during the holidays! Now each player will have two different miniatures in the game: a male and female.

On the other side, we have decided to include 2 addons to the campaign.

The first one is an special hexagonal box for 6$. For two years we have used a similar box when play testing the prototypes and everyone loved it. For this reason we are including it as an ADD-ON, in addition to the original box, for those who are interested.

The second one is a playmat for 10$ which you can use for Sector 6 or any other game! A 70 x 70 cm (27.5 x 27.5 in) winkle-free, waterproof and foldable mat made of polyester (97%) and spandex (3%) of 1 mm of thickness and 275 gr/m2. The material is similar to neoprene fabrics of 1mm thickness and breathable. Commonly used in bikers clothing, the playmat printing is high-quality and machine washable.

We hope you enjoy them!

Greetings friends,

We have great news today!

We've made a video featuring a two player game, building phase included, so you can get a feel for the mechanics and see how an entire game plays out.

We are on the verge of unlocking the Retweet Strech Goal. Encourage your friends to share. We're at 357 out of 406.

We are also close to unlocking the new Advanced Labyrinth Pack SG.

As a thanks to all the backers who have supported Sector 6 we want to make a special gift by adding a fifth and sixth player to your games. This includes two additional miniatures (a boy and a girl). A total of 10 miniatures!

So 5-6 players game shall be supported and 2 new minis shall be added if the SG is reached!

Finally we can confirm to you that we are so close to unlock the Italian language online rules. Our game has been added to Giochistarter and the first SG almost has been reached.

Thank you Italian friends!

Greetings friends!

We are in our last week!

Sector 6 has several exclusive components for backers: two social SGs (Cloth Bag and Hexagonal Coasters) and two SGs from fundraising (Six-point Tiles Set and Advanced Entry Ponts Set). These two SGs of $18,006 and $42,006 are tiles that were always in addition to the game. We should have explained this better and offer you our sincerest apologies for the confusion it has caused. These tiles exist only because of you, our supporters, and just so it's clear we are putting a 'Kickstarter Exclusive' seal on the campaign images.

We are close to unlock new stretch goals for all backers!

Greetings friends!

Only a few days left for the Kickstarter campaign - spread the word so others can join us! :)

We've made a solo mode video (summarized game) so you can get a grasp of the mechanics...

We are very close to unlocking the DUEL MODE goal which challenges players to navigate two mirror labyrinths simultaneously.

But..(we're nuts!) we wanted to include a new goal to differentiate the 5-6 player miniatures. We ordered the design and now we can show it:
New Miniature Model for 5-6 player mode $66666 SG: and to celebrate a special number, we are surprising you with an additional miniature model for the extra two miniatures. You'll be able to see it once we unlock the 5-6 player Mode.

Just to let everyone know, the game will physically be available in 5 languages: English, Spanish, Italian, German, and French. This is thanks to several backers who are placing group orders, doing local crowdfunding, and to translators who have offered to provide temporary versions of said manuals.

The game, with all the SGs, will have more content, additional rules, modes of play and predefined labyrinths. We are already hard at work on all of this.

Thank you friends!!

Greetings friends!

Thanks to all Sector 6 backers and collaborators.

Once again we wish to extend our gratitude to you for what has been acheived. Thanks to your help, Sector 6 will be a MUCH better game. Together we've unlocked 12 Stretch Goals: improve the production materials, two additional modes of play, a female miniature, a solo mode campaign, several labryinths...

You will receive a special edition that will never again be produced. You will have unique tiles and game components so that, every time you open your game, you'll remember that Sector 6 is what it is because of you.

However, we believe Sector 6 can be even better with the remaining 2 Stretch Goals, and we are convinced that we can unlock them in the two days we have left. We want to raise $66,666 and to celebrate we'll include two different miniatures in the game (for a total of 10).
