I feel bad posting this dumb question, because it's inconsequential and likely doesn't have a good answer. I'm normally more decisive, but I've got hung up on this for some reason.
Someone's offered me a copy of the original Roxley edition of Santorini in exchange for maybe £50 of games. I want the game and it looks like a sweet deal because copies of it go for near three figures in the UK. What people paying that might not know is that the Spinmaster reprint - currently unavailable here - is inbound, although there's no guarantee on when it will arrive. Price is shaping up to be £30-35.
The differences between the editions are entirely cosmetic, and I don't care that much - essentially the old edition has a nice base board that adds nothing to the play and thicker cards. Normally I'd wait but what's making me antsy is ... we've been waiting a long time for this reprint to arrive over here and I don't *entirely* trust that it ever will.
