Chicken Caesar? The Hotness? was created by Steve Weeks
I've got an idea! Why don't we scare away every single person from the board game hobby! How can we do this you ask? Let's put Chicken Caesar at the number 1 slot on the hotness on BGG.

What in the hell is going on? I just watched Tom Vasel's paid preview of Chicken Caesar and for those of you doing marketing analysis I turned the video off at 4:46, what a chore to sit through this and I hope Tom was paid a hefty sum to explain this game.

Can we shut down Kickstarter right now? This is worse than Karaoke night. Just because you like games doen't mean you can design one.

Who came up with the chicken idea? Here's a tip. If you want to use a kooky idea like a Chicken Roman Senate, the game has to be a little kooky too, not a serious spreadsheet game with chicken pictures on the cards which are also not funny.

Putting bad games in the spotlight WILL hurt this hobby and drive people away in droves. This is a travesty! BGG and Tom Vasel need to accept some responsibility and show some discretion about which games to showcase.

Et tu, Brute???

ROFL. Call anonymous and have a denial-of-service attack targeted at BGG and Kickstarter for 3 days. There will be mass suicides, gnashing of teeth, snarls of anguish...all that jazz.

Then, when it's all over, replace the homepages with an ad for F:AT.

Who the hell is talking about Chicken Caesar? This game is not hot! What a pathetic sell out in an attempt to create buzz. No hobby store is burning with talk about Chicken Caesar. No game clubs or groups are sitting on the edge of their seats for this release. There is no buzz on this game, not by any real gamers!

Currently there is a giveaway contest on BGG for Chicken Caesar. Just about every game I've seen featured in a giveaway contest jumps up on the hotness. It'll be gone soon, don't worry.

Wait...reviewers are now doing 'previews' of kickstarter projects?

How much are they paying people to register for this contest?

I got rid of the hotness, just a round of antibiotics and make sure to take the whole thing and the burning will go away.

A disturbing trend and a waste of time because these videos say that the components you see are not final. So really you are seeing a preview of something that will most likely change.

More appropriate than you may think! The Hotness list is hemmoroids on the ass of gaming.

Contests are pretty lucrative for BGG -- $1200 charge for a one-week contest. Their slick sheet indicates that one contest drove 11,000 hits to the associated game's page. That is likely enough to put you on The Hotness.

First, it makes a lot of sense. People spending money on vaporware need to know how a game plays, and thus it makes sense that people see, up front, a prototype game in action, knowing that the quality will be better than the proto.

Second, weren't you noting that you'd be first in line to help promote Capo after seeing nothing other than (coincidentally) a....PREVIEW VIDEO WITH TOM VASEL?

So, what's the difference?

I enter every contest and guess wildly, then delete the microbadge. It really makes me feel like I'm subverting the system from within.

So, some reviewers have now blatantly moved from providing critique to being nothing more than an infomercial?

I called Tom on this a while back, and he pushed back. But I wasn't criticizing, which he later understood.

If you can make money being a "paid spokesmodel" and make money having a hobby-based website where you review products, fucking go for it. I mean, what's the difference between F:AT having banner ads on the site where games are reviewed and Tom having banner ads where games get reviewed? I don't see a problem with that, and I don't see a problem being a "paid spokesmodel" as long as you're honest in your assessment and like the products you endorse.
