just got my new game

Yesterday 2000 copies of my new game was delivered to my doorstep - just in time for a major con starting this thursday.

It's an educational game about STDs and it was paid for by the Danish Ministry of Education and it's going to be free for, well, officially schools and such, but if you want a copy, you can pretty much get one. Unfortunately they don't pay us for the countless hours we've put into making the game, but it's still fucking sweet to actually make a game and see it published.

The game is, of course, in Danish, but I'm hoping to make a PnP version in English some time soon.

The trick is, to persuade the Danish Ministry of Education to pay for an English edition.

That would be sweet, but I think a better option is to maybe find a company that specialises in educational games and ask them. Haven't really found one, though. and honestly I think Norway or Sweden is a better bet, but don't have the contacts there either.

Also, the game is not paid for by the ministry as such, but with the money the state earns through licenced gambling (lotto and such). They are earmarked for sports, culture, and education and that's the money we applied for.

The environment is pretty ripe right how with the libs in office here in the US; if you pitched the idea to someone at HEalth and Human Services this might be a pretty good deal for you, especially since another country is bought into it. Maybe find a liason officer at the US HHS department and pitch them. STDs are pretty high in the list.

An African version would be even more important. Those fuckers are dropping like flies, sadly. Peace Corps would be the ones to hit on that one.

I've PM'ed this to some of you, but might as well write it here as well.

As it is every card in the game has some text. In Danish. However, most of it is just bonus info on STDs. So in total there's no more than seven cards with important text, and I'll make a translation sheet for those soon. And I'll also be happy to ship some of them across the pond if you guys cover shipping (the game itself is free - one of the conditions for getting money to produce it). A single game can be shipped for around 12 USD, if I send more it'll be cheaper per game, but I'm not sure about the numbers.

OK US sex creeps, I'm prepared to front the cash to get a bunch shipped over here. Looks like it will be about $2.50 a deck from there to me, then a few bucks more from me to you depending on how fast you want it.
