Can't wait for the next Trashfest, when I get to choose between Monopoly or Cosmic Encounter at every table.

No Monopoly is not great. I went through the standard it's bad, then it's not that bad phase but then went through the other side to bad again. The main problem is that deals are made too infrequently so the bulk of turns are roll, move, pay, pass dice. While I will concede that most games have 2 or 3 key moments which decide the game, Monopoly has nothing going for it apart from those moments so even when played appropriately within an hour it is still 5 minutes of interesting decisions and 55 minutes of roll, move, pay.

Honestly, I think I'd be pretty happy at a Trashfest playing zero games and just getting to meet everyone and put faces and real names to aliases.
Be neat to play a long game that I'd never play otherwise though, like Twilight Imperium or something. I wouldn't complain about downtime or failing to get my games to the table. Advanced/Mega Civ would be really cool.
I wouldn't expect to play Monopoly, and I don't think it's "great," but I maintain that I'd rather play it than CoB, Stone Age (sorry pete), Lords of Waterdeep, Puerto Rico, and many other games in that complexity range.
