I have a nasty habit of picking up a game and then finding a version that I like better. Any thoughts on a definitive version of cockroach poker?

You can still play the regular game using the Royal version so that’s the one I’d personally recommend.
I dimly remember trying the Salad version once but it didn’t get played again whereas Royal still gets a game every now and then.

Cockroach salad is awesome. Played a bunch late night at the last ConnCon. This one time Al said 'lettuce,' but he meant to say 'tomato.' This other time Shelly tried to say 'lettuce' but instead didn't say a goddamn thing and I damn near pissed myself. So fucking funny.

Ahh, I remember it now, thank you! No idea why it never got brought along again. It is a totally different game to cockroach poker though.

Cockroach Poker Royal is Cockroach Poker with a few additional cards that have special rules. You can pull those cards out of the deck and then just play the original Cockroach Poker with the remaining cards if you want. There is no difference between the German versions and the English versions other than the box. There are English rules included in the German version. The cards are the same.
