I'll mention the Reddit's boardgames subred just cleared a million members around Christmas time, and it's up to 1.4 million now. It's due to double in under six months.

Oops. Make that 1.5 million.

What's interesting is that amongst the questions on Gloomhaven and Terraforming Mars are legit questions on rulings in Monopoloy and Parcheesi and other mainstream games, and as a general rule people replying are very respectful and helpful. There's plenty of opportunity to be a jerk and Reddit certainly lets that sort of thing through, but it's not occurring. It's a much more welcoming atmosphere than BGG, which has a reputation for being family-friendly.

I'd say a better description of BGG is work-safe, rather than family-friendly.

Heh, BGG even comes through the Chinese firewall. I can get that at home without my VPN turned on. This site. . . does not work without.

Actually, we have blocked most of China and Russia from accessing this site. We were getting constantly bombarded by spam and hacking attempts from that part of the world. If you PM your IP to me I can try to white list you.

I don't have a static IP. Besides worst case scenario I can still access from my lunch break at work.
