I just noticed while browsing Amazon that some games are being advertised with a "Play with Alexa" tag. Risk and Ticket to Ride specifically, but I'm sure there are more.
Anyone have any experience with this? I'm assuming it would work regardless of the version of game (I. E. Alexa is just telling you where to move an AI player, it isn't reading QR codes on the pieces with your phone or anything).
Seems like a lot of work for an extra player but might be an option for solo play if it extends to more complex games.
I remember reading something about this a while ago. IIRC, you can use Alexa as an AI opponent with some annoying caveats. Namely you have to read her destination cards to her, so you know where she's headed. But I guess it works in a pinch.
What you might be interested in looking into, however, is Paizo's Alexa-powered Starfinder adventure path. It's a six-episode story arc that you can play with Alexa that has a full cast and sound design and everything. Haven't tried it myself, but it is tempting.
