If it's a small group (say 20 or less) I'd opt for the classics. Acquire, Settlers, Merchant of Venus, etc. Games with all their certs.

edit: oh, it's regular posters only...let's hope once every other month for years is regular enough

Has it been that long since you have posted? How's about we expand it to include regular lurkers as well. Sometimes people just haven't got much to say on a regular basis.

Then throw in A Game of Thrones 2E, Fortress America and Buffy for a variety.

That's me as well! I will bring Wallenstein, we'll all be chugging our warriror cubes into the cube tower left and right and I'll tell you guys how to pronounce Mecklenburg, Ober-Österreich and Hessen-Darmstadt, right before I invade them.
I want to play Root with pros and would play the faction that is best suited for a noob.
Other games that I'd love to play: Dune and tons Nexus Ops. Everything with drama and conflict is ok in my book.

I've been face to face gaming since the beginning of July when our lockdown properly ended, count is 136 games so far
although 90 of those have been card games - various Legendary series deckbuilders and half that number being questing with the LotR card game.

How the hell did you people all manage to be in Melbourne at the same time? Not that I'm complaining...
Insanely unlikely / non-Euclidian travel aside: Nexus Ops, Merchants and Marauders, The Estates, Merchant of Venus, Cosmic Encounter. And if anyone's willing: Starcraft!

I would wait for a spot at any of the Root tables, that had room for a third timer.
I would probably let one you curmudgeons show me the glory of any number of ancient war games. I jumped in at Cataan and Carcassonne when my kids were into gaming, after wasting my youth playing D&D and Ccgs. There was one brief season when I was 14 where I picked up Dawn Patrol (a TSR dog fighting game) and we played it and I started fantasizing about all these cool Avalon Hill games at the hobby shop by the D and D minis, but the dudes that hung around to play those games were oooooollllllddddd. I'm probably old enough to appreciate them now.
