Our dog is named Neville, after Neville Longbottom. So I guess I can't argue against Crookshanks. But I'd rather go with something like Luna Lovegood or something.

Harrugh, Gila, or Carth (if you really like TI3)

Clearclaw? That's almost as bad as what H.P. Lovecraft called his cat.

Though Clearclaw wouldn't see anything wrong with Lovecraft's cat's name. :p

Kittistador, Kahn (star trek, not jungle book reference), Little Lord Fauntleroy. I don't know cat's lend themselves to ricockulous names, even though they are kickass animals. My dear sisters have a cat they named Sir Charles the Diddled, Chas for short.

Shub Nigurrath which can be shortened to lovely "Shubby". Or Quiz like Quizatz Haderath. The longer the better.

I'd say go with Chairman Meow, or maybe Pol Paws.

A buddy of mine had two great names for whenever he got a cat:

1. Chairman Meow
2. Sexcopter

EDIT- that's what I get for not reading to the end before posting. DAMN YOU LOLOCAUST!

A challenge:

We have lots of cats. A mix of indoor and outdoor. There is a definite theme among the names. Can anyone work out the proper last names? (the last one is kind of hard.)

Boris
Elsa
Bela
Vincent
Max
Ingrid

Hmmm....I think I can get a few:

Boris Karloff
Elsa ?
Bela Legossi
Vincent Price
Max ?
Ingrid Bergman (I'm pretty sure this one isn't right.)

Score. And nice catch on Ingrid Pitt. Practically anyone else would have gone for Bergman.

The cats actually match their names pretty well.

Boris is a patchwork cat, appearing to be sewn together from 3 or 4 other cats.

Elsa is black and white, with distinctive white stripes along the top of his head (Elsa is also...male. The vet worked that out AFTER they opened him to spay him.)

Bela appears to have eyeliner around his eyes.

Vincent is almost regal and quite graceful. You could just see him as a wine taster.

Max is extremely thin, with a curiously pointed face.

Ingrid was a stray who went into heat at something like 10 weeks old. Pretty much had a line of toms fighting over her in the backyard for a couple of weeks. She ran from us up until about two weeks after she had the litter.
