So you might of heard of the flooding that went on in the midwest.Well the Comic Book,Sports Card and Gaming store that I work at got hit .About 2 Feet of water sat in are store over night and was gone by the morning(the area we were in was never considerd a flood zone...stupid levies)The last 2 days we have been cleaning and throwing tons of stuff away..mostly comics but some board games I had on some lower shelves got soaked. But they were mostly Euro's like Catan and its expansions,Cantan Histories Struggle for Rome ,Pillars of the Earth ,Race for the Galaxy and other Euro's I stock just to have them for the occasional Euro gamer that comes in.Mother Nature also hates killer Bunnies.
The only Ameritrash game that was lost was Britannia but the 3 other Fantasy flight games next to it survived.
It could of been worse but we will bounce back and probably be back up by next week.

We had a really bad flood back in May of '95 and the area I lived in at the time was nigh impregnable to flood waters. Unfortunately, although my house did not suffer flooding, the room I was living in (formerly a covered carport) did. My comic book collection was on the floor and sopped up the little water that made it into my room like a sponge. I looked at the ruined collection, shrugged, and said, "I guess this is God's way of telling me I'm spending too much money on comics."

I gave up the habit after that. Magic: The Gathering was my solace...

Sorry to hear about your store getting hit, Druen. Glad it wasn't a total loss, though.

I think my father-in-law (who lives in your town, as you may or may not remember) has skipped town for a while. He mentioned something about the city water supply being flooded and shut down . . . yech! Hope things straighten out for you all soon.

Still look forward to visiting your store again if I ever make it back up there.

Dude, that sucks. Sorry about your store. Too bad that of the Euros, it was Catan that got hit (one of the best of the bunch, IMHO). Why couldn't it have been Caylus?

Mike, haven't you been reading that other boardgame site. How could Caylus have been damaged when it can walk on water.

Too bad. They could have stacked up Caylus boxes for temporary levees instead of using the more valuable and more fun to play with sandbag.
