OK this may take some explaining . Couple of days ago a new Mayor of London was elected. It is a pretty powerful position and a Muslim socialist was elected name of Sadiq Khan. Controversial, as you might imagine. This is Shatner's response:

Shatner is a giant of a man - He still does not make up for the celebrity terrorism that Canada has been waging on the world for years.

I think Shatner effectively cancels out Bieber, Avril, and Bryan Adams.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can balance the scales for them birthing the terrorist group, Nickelback.

Canada gave us Dan Akroyd, Shatner, and Rush.

Y'all will always be good in my book.

Pete, we've had our differences in opinion over the years, but I cannot agree more with these words.

Mark the fucking calendars, folks, we stand united. Over Canada. Not the country we actually live in which is supposed to, you know, unite us and stuff.

Dude, fucking Canada.

Canada has done well in spite of its handicap. As you well know, it was equally influenced by Britian, Fance, and US of A. Could, veg worked out great had they gotten Britians culture, France's cuisine, and American technology. Instead they got Britiah cuisine, French technology, and Amercan culture.

Not so sure Rush puts them over the top, but Neil Young helps.

Neil Peart, you mean. :) I could do without Geddy but his sound really does make Rush unique.

Personally, I love Canada in every way. Great people (even Barney when he's not being a lady-chasing douche) and great culture. They get almost everything right except the whole 50% of Ontario's work force is public officials...

And Barney, for the love of God or Skydragon or whatever you pray to...please...enough with making everything about sexualizing women (or men). Please. We get that you like deh snapper and all that but fuck sakes, when I'm pleading with you to go easy, you're fucking up.

Careful, Michael Barnes is going come in here and police the hell out of anyone talking about Rush.

I saw them last year on their 40th anniversary tour and it was _incredible_. The played their setlist in reverse chronological order. It was a terrific setlist, but it also got better as the night went on for the most part. Loved that show, love that band, no fucks given.

Big Rush fan here, for some reason I didn't feel like going last year, turns out it was their final tour! Yeah me.

Have a colleague who's an even bigger fan since the 80's, he HAD tickets to the show in Montreal, and decided not to go, after seeing some Youtubes. I guess after seeing them front row on an earlier tour, he didn't really care for some of their rearranged classics and had a (major) change of heart.
